The good news, is that there are deer everywhere. They are plentiful, healthy, and full of energy. In fact, it is a rare year when all species appear healthy and plentiful. This IS some of them.
We have some great bucks this year. It is really rare that you catch the best on camera. And, we have not. But these guys below are 6, 8 and 10 pointers that will fill the bill, if we ever see them.
The does are in fine shape...
I do like that bobcats are once again a mainstay of the food chain belt here in NH. Once nearly wiped out by trapping bounties, and hound hunting, they are once again plentiful. We have talus slopes that they love, and have plenty around us.
Coyote, not many around.
Bobcat again, a mile from the one above, but could be the same...
This doe is chowing on apples, and she is fat, and heavy, as they all are this fall.
This guy below is behind our house under an apple tree.
Not just sure what this is. Fat butt of a deer?
great flying shot of a hawk coming in. Bluebird house in the background.
These fall apples, so full of juice!
Foxes. coons and ...more bucks!
And Bobcat butts.
Stinky skunk...
Meanwhile, up on the East Ridge,
These two shots below are of the Flip's Stand. It feels great, but wear a ball cap in the afternoon to ward off the lowering sun...
Below is a white faced hornets nest on the window of my bunkroom at deer camp. It's like an ant farm, I can see them moving and feeding babes, and making paper. Neat! Come frost when they are all dead, I'll try to scrape it off and save it...
These little flowers, whatever they are, are neat. On cool mornings in the fall, they harbor bees deep inside, staying warm all night! I do love small things staying warm! Remember the ants?
And these guys, not seen for years but during this wet, wet summer, they are back with us, and everywhere.
I won't test you. Tests are boring. This is a woodchuck track. Just outside the big barn.
And this is a mud slick between the far and near fields, and shows where a deer slid in the mud.
The East Plot, a good bow stand, and below the far Ridge Stand. Fewer deer, but more likely bucks.
Below is the Far ridge...
