As we approach May here in S. New Hampshire all the snow is officially gone! Things are greening up, the maple sap gatherers are gone, and things are happening! Here is a bunny at the mineral spot at the far Ridge
This girl looks a bit ragged to me. We have two herds, one is in fine shape, the other, which this doe belongs to are ribs and thin!
Big boy in the rear is prime game come May 3rd!
Another doe just above the house...
This is the herd that is ribs and in really bad shape. They will make it but their fawns probably will not...
This little guy loves the deer, and whatever they eat...
Fifteen yard shot...
The last few years show an increasing number of porcupines, as the trappers have lowered the numbers of Fishers..
This doe below has suffered a bad wound. Deep and broad enough to probably be caused by a bear or exceptionally nasty and large coyote. She's doing fine, but must be feeling lucky.
Only following an easy winter, do you find bucks sporting last years antlers...
Time to shed hunt!~ Let me know how you do! Happy Spring...
